The Mission of the New Jersey National Guard is to train and maintain a mission ready force capable of participating in a global strategy for the advancement of freedom. Recent history has proven that our NJ soldiers and airmen have been, and will continue to be, deployed in support of these strategic goals. I believe that our ability to train, maintain and attract quality young men and women is in part directly related to the quality of our real property assets. Safe, attractive and well maintained facilities are an essential part of our readiness. We must rethink our facility usage and resolve to provide the safest, best maintained, state-of-the-art facilities that can adequately support our training mission and deployment requirements. To that end an integral part of that strategy is to modernize and insure the utmost efficiency of our facilities in the areas of energy conservation and innovation. In addition to our State and Federal responsibilities we must, in our human conciseness be good stewards of our environment and our future. One of the most impactful ways to accomplish this is to insure that our facilities are run in the most efficient and responsible way. The NJ National Guard is committed to ensuring that our actions have the least impact on our environment and through the proactive use of renewable energy technology and deliberate energy conservation programs we are able to secure a sustainable future.
